Fragbarrow Farm was acquired by Hilary Pepler in 1919 out his his private resources and several parts of the land were sold to the Guild to to provide the land for their buildings. First Pepler and then his son David farmed the land as part of the Guild’s drive towards self-sufficiency, although without great success. The farm was sold in 1924 after Gill had left for Wales and Pepler moved to Hopkins Crank
